The Region 1 Health Research and Development Consortium (R1HRDC) through the Research Utilization Committee (RUC) in partnership with the Lyceum Northwestern University (LNU), successfully conducted a full face-to-face regional wide 2023 R1HRDC Research Conference last June 22, 2023 at LNU, Dagupan City, Pangasinan with the theme “Ethical Health Research Toward Sustainable Regional Development”. Gracing this special event is Dr. Jaime C. Montoya, Executive Director, Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) as the keynote speaker.
Out of 52 submissions of completed research papers from the different member institutions, only 17 entries qualified for the oral and poster presentations (Professional and Student category). The following papers were awarded as winners.

An exhibit was also conducted by the PCHRD – Research Information and Communications Division (RICUD) featuring HeaRTNovation, an innovation portfolio to their funded and assisted projects. They also distributed tech-briefs and other promotional materials to the participants.
In relation to this year’s theme on ethical health research, Mr. Ariel C. Bacani, a pioneer member of the Research Ethics Monitoring Board – I (REMB-I) promoted the services of REMB-I and the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB) though his lecture about the Institutionalization of Research Ethics Committee (REC) and Accreditation Process.
Three of the completed funded papers under the DOST-PCHRD Regional Research Fund (RRF) were also disseminated as follows:
