The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) is calling for proposals for 2021-2022 in the following research program areas:

Registration for the Researcher Database is already available at the DOST Project Management Information System (http://dpmis.dost.gov.ph/). However, submission of research proposals and other requirements will be accessible from April 1, 2020 until April 30, 2020 only.

You may also send your inquiries regarding the submission process to the Integrated Management System Team (pmis(a,dost.gov.ph). On February 19, 2020, the DOH Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center – Dagupan Research Ethics Committee (DOH DTRC Dagupan REC) received the good news of being granted Level 2 Accreditation by the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board thru the Regional Ethics Monitoring Board – 1, valid for 1 year.

Despite being one of the youngest member institutions of the Region 1 Health Research and Development Consortium, who’d became a member on May 2018, the committee which is headed by the Chair, Mr. Eric Vincent R. Maminta thru the help of the Dr. Ronnie Salvador (Chairman of the Research Committee) and with the support of Dr. Delfin Gubatan Jr (Chief of Hospital), managed to establish their own Research Ethics Committee at a short period of time. They initially applied to REMB-1 on April 4, 2019 and after complying with the accreditors’ comments and recommendations, they have been granted the provisional Level 2 accreditation. As Level 2 Accredited, the DOH DTRC Dagupan REC can now review all types of research except clinical trials required for FDA registration of new drugs, and post marketing studies. These may entail more than minimal risk to human participants involved on the research.

The Department of Science and Technology- Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 3rd year implementation of the DOST-PCHRD- Undergraduate Thesis Grant in Natural Products.
The program aims to sustain a research culture in natural products to increase the number of research and later on build a pool of researchers/experts specializing in the field. It supports the Drug Discovery and Development Program of the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) which aims to develop safe, effective and affordable alternative drugs from the country’s natural resources.
The search is open to all undergraduate students of Colleges of Pharmacy, Chemistry, Nursing and Health and Allied Sciences who have thesis proposals on natural products in the current school year. All nominees must submit the following documents to the Region 1 Health Research and Development Consortium (R1HRDC).

The Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD), thru the Regional Health Research and Development Consortium implemented the Regional Research Fund (RRF) to encourage and support the conduct of health research in the local level. Thru the RRF, young researchers are given the chance to develop and conduct their studies with the help of the RHRDC Technical Review Board (TRB) members who evaluates the technical aspects of the projects. In 2015, the PCHRD conducted a series of technical review training workshops in the different clusters of RHRDCs whereby the participants requested for a manual of operations for the TRB of the different consortia, thus, the creation of the TRB Manual of Operations. This manual was released on August 2018 during the PNHRS Week Celebration. The MOP hoped to simplify and standardize the TRB operations across the 16 consortia in the country.

The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) in collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH), in collaboration with Region 1 Health Research and Development Consortium, is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the Alberto G. Romualdez, Jr. Outstanding Health Research Award (AROHRA) for the year 2020.

 

The award gives recognition to a research program or project that has demonstrated the link between research and practice through the utilization of research findings in health delivery system.

 

Any health research program or project may be considered for the award. Nominations will be done by any institution, members of the consortium, scientific, technological and professional societies or associations, research institutes, universities and colleges, and individuals. Self nomination is not allowed.

 

Two awards will be given: one for the Biomedical Research Category and another one for the Health Services Research Category. A cash prize of Php500,000.00 (net of tax) and a trophy await the winner for each category.
