2019 R1HRDC HEALTH RESEARCH DISSEMINATION FORUM

The Region 1 Health Research and Development Consortium – Research Utilization Committee (R1HRDC-RUC) started the year by conducting the back to back Health Research Dissemination Forum with Applied CPD Units (for Nurse only) in collaboration with the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC) Nursing Division and University of Northern Philippines (UNP).

 

The application of CPD Units resulted in numerous interested nurses all over the region, thus, the forum was divided into 2 (Two) Phases to accommodate the participants. With the theme “Restructuring R1HRDC Health Research Dissemination Forum towards Relevant Professional Needs, the Phase 1 which is for the Provinces of La Union and Pangasinan, was on January 26, 2019 held at DBM Conference Hall, San Fernando City La Union, which catered to more or less 160 registered nurses. While on February 9, 2019, the Phase 2 of the forum was conducted at UNP, Vigan City with the theme “Research Outputs: Inputs to Evidenced Based Nursing Practice”, which ended up accommodating almost 80 nurses from the Provinces of Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur.

The Region 1 Health Research and Development Consortium thru the Research Utilization Committee (RUC) will be holding the annual R1HRDC Regional Research Conference on May 16, 2019, at Northwestern University Laoag City, wherein researchers, clinicians, educators, and students convene to share knowledge and experiences in the field of health research. With this year's theme

"RESEARCH OUTPUTS AS INPUTS TOWARDS EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE FOR QUALITY LIFE",

all health researchers (students and professionals) can now submit their abstract of the completed research paper in line with the priority health research agenda (NUHRA and RUHRA). Deadline of submission will be on April 5, 2019, which includes the following:

The R1HRDC Capacity Building Committee (CBC) launched its MEGA TRAINING PROGRAM which was primarily envisioned to enhance the capacity of R1HRDC to come up with better health researches which will strengthen the knowledge and delivery of health services pertaining to two (2) pressing health issues/concern identified in the region: Teenage Pregnancy and Mental Health. Also, it aimed to support the capability of researchers to conduct the whole cycle of research activity from inception to utilization of the intended beneficiaries of the results of the research activity. This program was divided into three (3) phases, whereby, the Phase 1, “Development of Research Proposals”, was conducted on December 17-18, 2018 at El Cielito Hotel, Baguio City and was participated in by 28 researchers in the region.

DOST-PCHRD Undergraduate Thesis Grant in Natural Products

 

THESIS GRANT

A. Two (2) thesis proposals will be selected per region who will receive a grant amounting to a maximum of Fifty Thousand Pesos (Php 50,000.00).

B. A Memorandum of Agreement will be signed between the students, adviser, head of institution, and DOST-PCHRD.

C. The thesis fund will be deposited to the bank account of the thesis adviser and will be liquidated with corresponding receipts after completion of the study.

D. The grant must be expended based on the approved line item budget.

 

WHO CAN APPLY?

All undergraduate students of Pharmacy, Chemistry, Nursing and Health, and Allied Sciences who have thesis proposals on natural products may apply. The proposed thesis study must use plants indigenous in the region. The project must be completed a year after receiving the grant.

 

HOW TO APPLY?

Applicants should submit the following documents to the Region 1 Health Research and Development Consortium (R1HRDC):

A. Duly accomplished prescribed research proposal form with college seal

B. Endorsement letter from the institution signed by the head of the university college dean

C. Soft copy of the proposal (MS Word Format)

D. Hard copy of the proposal using A4 paper

E. Certificate of plant authentication
