The Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) is now accepting proposals for the HeaRTNovation Call for Proposals 2026, inviting researchers, higher education institutions, health innovators, and Filipino startups to avail of funding and support for intellectual property protection, technology transfer, commercialization, and research and development initiatives.

The Region 1 Health Research and Development Consortium (R1HRDC), through its Research Utilization Committee (RUC), will conduct a Free Orientation on the Health Research and Development Information Network (HERDIN) and the Philippine Health Research Registry (PHRR) on July 22, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 NN via Zoom.

The Region 1 Health Research and Development Consortium (R1HRDC), in partnership with DOST-PCHRD, will conduct a Capacity-Building Session on Intellectual Property and HeaRTNovation on July 21, 2026.

The activity aims to equip researchers in Region 1 with fundamental knowledge on intellectual property protection and DOST-PCHRD’s commercialization support services. It will also introduce HeaRTNovation and its role in helping researchers protect, develop, and commercialize health research innovations.

The Region 1 Health Research and Development Consortium (R1HRDC) officially concluded the submission period for the Call for Papers for the 2026 Regional Research Conference, following the deadline set on April 30, 2026.

Researchers, students, and health professionals from member institutions and partner organizations submitted research papers aligned with the conference theme, “Harnessing Ethical AI for Relevant and Impactful Health Research.” The initiative gathered studies highlighting the growing role of ethical and innovative technologies in advancing healthcare research and improving health outcomes in the region.

As the final deadline for this year’s IHF Awards and i-to-i Innovation Hub approaches on Friday, 24 April, we at the Regional Health Research and Development Consortium (R1HRDC) encourage our partner institutions and healthcare professionals to take part in this prestigious global opportunity.

The IHF Awards provide a platform to recognize outstanding contributions across eight categories, highlighting excellence and innovation in hospitals and health services.
