As part of its 58th Founding Anniversary celebration, Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital & Medical Center (MMMH&MC) conducted its Annual Residents Research Competition for Oral Presentation on February 24, 2026, at the 5th Floor Function Hall, Annex Building, MMMH&MC, Batac City.
The activity was facilitated and assisted by the Region 1 Health Research and Development Consortium (R1HRDC) Secretariat, helping ensure the smooth and organized conduct of the event. The competition gathered medical professionals from different specialties who presented their research studies, promoting evidence-based practice and strengthening the institution’s research culture.
The presenters were Dr. Ma. Lynnuelle Faye P. Erojo (Pediatrics), Dr. Sydney Sheldon C. Tolentino (Ophthalmology), Dr. Lovely A. Bolo (Obstetrics and Gynecology), Dr. Dominiel Denver L. Ganal (Surgery), and Dr. Xyrose Lex-Deo P. Andres (Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery). Each participant was given ten (10) minutes to present their research.
After careful evaluation, the department of Ophthalmology was awarded First Place, followed by the department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery in Second Place, and the department of Surgery in Third Place. The presentations were evaluated by Dr. Peter Icalia Gann of Mariano Marcos State University, Dr. Marivic Alimbuyuguen of R1HRDC, and Dr. Anthony Suguitan of MMMH&MC.
The event highlighted the continued commitment of MMMH&MC and R1HRDC to strengthen research engagement among healthcare professionals and promote excellence in medical research.
